FAQ

GENERAL

Paragonn Shop HQ is located in Los Angeles, CA but we operate as an online store only.

Hopefully, you'll find the answer you need from our FAQ section or one of your policy pages, but if you need a little extra help or just want to send us some feedback, please feel free to email us at paragonnshop@gmail.com.

We do not have a call center and we're not set up to handle high volumes of phone calls. Paragonn Shop was built online, including our customer support. Though you may receive an automated response every once in a while, all channels are manned by human staff who are eager to help you out, quickly and efficiently.

Please refer to tag, some fabrics have different care instructions, so make sure to look at the care label on your item for additional instructions. If no tag is present, or you removed the tag, or lost the tag read instructions below according to fabric.

Hand washing is always the best and safest method to clean any kind of garment and is the method we always recommend! Add 2 capfuls of mild detergent to a washbasin or sink filled with cool water. Submerge the item and gently agitate the water with your hands to evenly distribute soap. Soak for up to 30 minutes. Rinse well by running cool water through the item until the water is no longer soapy. Do not wring. Instead, press the water out of the item.

Shrinkage/Stretching and Other Considerations

Most fabrics shrink 1-3% over the first few washes. This is normal and expected. We factor expected shrinkage into your shirt size, so please only evaluate fit after at least one wash. Fabric shrinkage is most noticeable in the "length" areas (sleeves, collar, overall body length.) The way you care for your garment can significantly impact how much an item can shrink. Casual fabrics are often more susceptible to high rates of shrinkage if cared for improperly (high dryer heat, for example.) We have seen an increasing amount of dry cleaners stretch shirts during their pressing process. If you notice that a shirt seems bigger after a trip to the cleaners, it may be worth inquiring with your cleaners about their pressing process.

ACTIVEWEAR

Close up any zippers and turn the clothes inside out before you put them in the washing machine. It keeps the colors brighter and helps avoid snags during the cycle. Wash your workout gear in cold water on a gentle cycle. Hot water and too much agitation can damage the fibers of your activewear and shorten its lifespan.

To dry: Ideally, it’d be best to let your high-performance workout clothes air-dry on a drying rack. If you must put them in the dryer, use the lowest heat setting possible to avoid damaging the fabric. Before putting clothing in the dryer, do a sniff test, and rewash it if the odor is still in the fabric. Machine-drying tends to set the odor into the fibers.

BLOUSE, BUTTON UP SHIRT

Before you wash your blouse or button up shirt, undo all the buttons including the button cuffs and remove any collar stays.

To minimize wear on a fine or lightweight dress shirt, use delicate cycle. If the shirt is made from a heavier duty fabric or is particularly dirty you may opt for the normal cycle. Whites and light colors can use hot water. Dark colored shirts should be washed with cold water to prevent fading. Do not include other laundry items with bold colors that may bleed into your shirts. Use a mild detergent, be sure not to use any detergents or cleaners that are chlorine based as these will cause discoloration to many shirt fabrics. Once garment is done machine washing, remove promptly.

To dry: Hang dry the shirt on a sturdy plastic hanger and button up the top two buttons to maintain the shirt’s shape or lay them out so that they can air dry. Be careful about hanging the shirts on a sharp hanger or with tight clothespins as this can distort the fabric or leave a mark on the shirt.

If you must put them in the dryer: We recommend low heat and to remove the shirt while it is still damp. It’s best to iron the shirt while it is still damp. It makes ironing easier and keeps shrinkage to a minimum.

COTTON

It is difficult to give guidance on washing cotton as there are so many types of cotton fabric available and so many uses for it. Cotton T-shirts can be prone to shrinkage, stretching, and color bleeding when they are washed and dried. To try and stop this happening: Wash in cold (30°C or below) water, whether using a washing machine or washing by hand. Give garment a gentle stretch when they come out of the wash to get them back into shape. If you have an item that you know is prone to more than 10% shrinkage, hand wash it in cold water.

To dry: We recommend air drying: Cotton can be dried on an outdoor clothesline or indoor drying rack or lay garment in its natural shape on a drying rack. While the ultraviolet rays of the sun will help whiten white cotton clothes, hang colored cotton clothes away from direct sunlight to prevent fading.

If you must put them in the dryer: Select the permanent press setting for cotton clothes or use a lower dryer temperature setting. Over-drying cotton not only causes some shrinkage but also excessive wrinkling.

CHIFFON, FINE KNIT, LACE, MESH, POLYESTER, SATIN, SILK, SYNTETHICS, VELVET, WOOL, AND OTHER LIGHTWEIGHT FABRIC

We recommend hand washing. Add 2 capfuls of mild detergent to a washbasin or sink filled with cool water. Submerge the item and gently agitate the water with your hands to evenly distribute soap. Soak for up to 30 minutes. Rinse it well with cold water. Never wring or twist! Press down on the fabric to get the water out. If there is still excess amount of water on fabric, lay garment on a towel and roll it up like a sleeping bag to help absorb the moisture faster.

If you must use a washing machine: Turn garment inside out, and then place it inside a mesh lingerie bag to prevent it from snags and tears. Set your machine to the delicate cycle and make sure to the water temperature is cold to avoid damage. and the spin to low. Place the bag in the washing machine.

To dry: Lay garment in its natural shape on a drying rack or hang to dry. Be sure to position the item properly on a hanger to prevent stretching.

DENIM

We recommend washing new denim separately at first. If you must wash your jeans with other clothes, try to wash them with similarly colored jeans or clothing. Turn jeans inside out helps protect the fibers on the outside of the jeans from friction and direct exposure from detergent, which helps prevent fading. However, it’s not rare for jeans to bleed dye, especially if they’re new. Use mild detergent, especially one made specifically for dark clothes if your jeans are blue or black. Opt for a delicate or gentle cycle and use cold water to avoid shrinking or fading.

To dry: Heat can shrink, fade, or yellow denim, and it can also cause damage to stretch denim fabrics that contain spandex or Lycra. The best way to dry jeans is by hanging them up to air dry.

If you must put them in the dryer: Select a low or no heat cycle and use dryer balls to keep your jeans tumbling. Remove the jeans while they’re still slightly damp, then stretch the seams and hang them up to finish drying.

FAUX LEATHER

We recommend washing faux leather by hand. The washing machine will cause faux leather to wrinkle, crack, and break. If you must use a washing machine: Turn your faux leather item inside out and place it into a mesh lingerie bag to prevent it from snags and tears. Set your machine to the delicate cycle and make sure to the water temperature is cold and the spin to low. Place the bag in the washing machine.

To dry: Lay your faux leather item in its natural shape on a drying rack or hang to dry. Be sure to position the item properly on a hanger to prevent stretching. Hang faux leather jackets inside out on a sturdy hanger and allow them to drip-dry. Skirts and pants can either be hung or dried flat on absorbent towels. Drying can take up to 24 hours. Frequently turn items that are dried flat. To speed drying time, wipe down the garment with a soft, absorbent microfiber cloth. Never put faux leather items in the dryer!

REFLECTIVE CLOTHING

Machine wash with like colors in cold water on a delicate cycle. You may use a mild detergent, but no bleach or fabric softener! Avoid washing reflective garments with work jeans or any clothing with rough fabric or edges. The microscopic glass beads on the retro reflective heat transfer film can be worn off by rough texture.

To dry: We recommend line drying. If you must put them in the dryer, tumble dry on low heat. Remove the product immediately, heat can damage the reflective heat transfer film.

SEQUINS

Hand washing is the most gentle method for cleaning a sequined shirt, dress, sweater, pillow, etc. Button or zip all closures, and turn the garment inside out. Add 2 capfuls of mild detergent to a washbasin or sink filled with cool water. Submerge the item and gently agitate the water with your hands to evenly distribute soap. Don't scrub vigorously, too much agitation can bend or break the sequins. Soak for up to 30 minutes. Rinse it well with cold water. Do not wring or twist garment tightly. Gently squeeze out the water.

If you must use a washing machine: Select the gentle cycle and cold water temperature. Set the spin cycle on the lowest speed to prevent damage to the sequins. Add a gentle detergent, and don't use bleach or fabric softener. Button or zip the garment completely. Turn it inside out so that the sequins are protected.

To dry: Never put sequined garments in a dryer because the sequins or glue could melt. If the garment is made from a woven fabric, it can be hung to air-dry. Otherwise lay garment in its natural shape to dry.

SWIMWEAR

Turn your swimsuit inside out and submerge it in mild detergent with warm water. Gently agitate the water with your hands to evenly distribute soap. Soak for up to 30 minutes. Gently squeeze the water out of the fabric. Don’t wring the suit as it can cause damage. Wash cycle can damage the swimsuit's fabric. Hand washing not only ensures that your bright coral swimsuits stay bright (and coral), but it also gives your suit more longevity and helps keep its shape.

To dry: Spread your suit flat to dry in a spot out of direct sunlight. UV rays from the sun can both fade and break down the fibers in your suit.

We partnered up with multiple suppliers in China, thus the product showing the manufacturer brands instead of ours. When ordering multiple items your products will be shipped to you from multiple suppliers hence different packages with different shipping schedules.

All products have size charts available. Please refer to these charts to determine your best fit. If there is no size chart, please let us know and we can rectify this immediately.

We always recommend sizing up to those who want a looser feel and maintaining your normal size for those who want the slimmer look, unless otherwise stated.

If you are in between sizes, we recommend taking 1 to 2 sizes up.

HOW TO TAKE CLOTHING MEASUREMENTS

Dresses: Measure from the natural part of the shoulder to your desired hem length.

Bottoms: Measure from either the waist or the hip to the foot (this will vary for style & fit, shoes off).

Bust: Measurement taken from the fullest part of the breast with your bra on.

Chest: Measurements taken from the widest part of your chest.

Shoulder: Measurement taken from shoulder tip to shoulder tip.

Waist: Measurement taken from the smallest part of your waist, a little above your belly button.

Hips: Whilst standing in a natural stance measure the fullest part of the hips.

Inseam: Measure from the inner leg at the crouch to the foot (shoes off).

How do I know which measurement to go off?

Always go according to your largest measurement. If you want to buy a dress and your hip measurement say size small but your bust say size medium go with the size medium. The same can be said for men’s measurements, as an example if your waist measurement is larger than your chest measurement then use the waist measurement as your point of reference. It is better to be safe than to be sorry.

Always measure yourself with your under garments on (bra and underwear) but not over your outer clothing as it can vastly change your measurements. As best as you can try to use a dressmaker tape for a more accurate measurement and write down your measurements or save to your smartphone.

Note: If you are not confident about what part of your body is the fullest part take the measurements whist standing in front of a mirror or get someone who you feel comfortable with to take the measurements for you.

We hope that this has given you a little more confidence and understanding when buying from Paragonn Shop and remember that fit of the garment is what truly matters, not what is written on the label.

The odor that you smell from your new clothes is from the chemical applied to them in the manufacturing process in order to prevent molds, bacteria, mildew, and other substances that may wear out the cloth while they are still stocked in the warehouse.

Here are a few ways to get the smell out:

    1. Baking Soda - Have you ever put a box of baking soda in your fridge to absorb odd smells? The same idea can be applied here. Before washing the product normally, soak them in cold water with baking soda dissolved in it. This is a reliable, natural way to combat chemical smells in your clothes.
    2. White Vinegar - Vinegar is a miracle cleaner for everything from towels to glassware. Thanks to its high-acidity, it naturally breaks down odor-causing substances. Mix white vinegar with cold water and soak the product for 30-60 minutes, then rinse thoroughly with cold water. Once it is fully dry, the chemical and vinegar odor will evaporate. This treatment has the added benefit of sealing in the fabric dyes.
    3. Fresh Air - A healthy dose of fresh air can alleviate most issues in life. Hanging the product inside-out in the sunshine is an effective way to reduce and eliminate odors without washing them. UV light will break down chemicals that cause odor. These rays are so powerful they’ll even bleach fabric (which is why it’s important to turn the product inside-out). You can accelerate the sun’s odor-eliminating effect by spraying your jeans with diluted vinegar.
